A member of the same plant family as Comfrey and just as beneficial, Borage Seed oil contains the richest source of gamma linolenic acid (GLA) in all plants. GLA is an essential fatty acid converted by the body into a hormone-like substance called prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) which has anti-inflammatory properties – wonderfully soothing and healing. The light, citrus notes of Bergamot Essential oil are also known for their healing properties, especially helpful for excema, psoriasis, acne and abrasions on the skin.

Definitely our purest, mildest soap – babysoft and gentle. Made with care and using the minimum of natural ingredients we handpick local wildcrafted herbs of Organic Plantain, Chickweed and Borage early on a sunny morning and macerate them slowly in Extra Virgin Olive oil for a minimum of 6 weeks to extract all the plant goodness. Add to this Castor Bean and Evening Primrose oil and a smidge of moisturising Nut butters and that’s all there is – no colours nor fragrances – just pure, healing, gentle soap.

Calendula (Pot Marigold) – a Cottage Garden stalward has long been renowned for it’s healing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Psoriasis sufferers are said to feel relief on using it and testimonials from our customers certainly confirm pain and itching ceases. Roman Chamomile Essential oil also is immensely soothing on dry, itchy, damaged skin and we have included a scattering of home-grown organic Chamomile petals in this mild soap as the only colouring. The therapeutic properties of Chamomile are amtiseptic, bacterial and are a mild sedative – and it has a gentle fragrance which we have kept to a minimum.
